Wireless charging firm Chargifi will be powering up employees of Uber, Spotify and Facebook from this month at a flagship Breather workspace in London.

Breather has partnered with Intel-funded Chargifi to deploy their seamless wireless charging solution in its smart, hi-tech space on Poland Street.

Employees and visitors to Breather will now be able to charge their devices wirelessly by simply placing their devices on charging-enabled surfaces.

London-headquartered Chargifi has a presence in the United States, Germany, Hong Kong, Singapore, India and Russia, bringing power to airports, bars, stadiums, hotels and restaurants.

“Being powered up and connected is essential for our users. Everyone relies on tech in the office, whether it’s a laptop, iPad or iPhone – power is crucial for the smooth-running of the workplace,” said Rory Normanton, Breather’s general manager in Europe.

“We’re looking forward to working with Chargifi and making wireless power a reality for guests in our spaces.”

Dan Bladen, CEO and co-founder of Chargifi, said: “Breather have created exactly the kind of environment you want to be working in and we’re excited that our wireless charging solution will contribute to this environment further.

“Without interference from cables and with no excuses for being disconnected from colleagues elsewhere, we’re helping to break the glass ceiling of the traditional office to provide the best working experience possible.”

Bladen told BusinessCloud earlier this year that the public will soon demand wireless charging.

The iPhone 8 is rumoured to be joining the wireless power market while Dell has released the first wirelessly charged laptop.
